Thank You Jesus - Signs are Pointing to a ‘Wild Hogs 2′

Filed under: Movie News — Posted by moviemanZ on Friday, March 30th, 2007 @ 6:49 pm

Prayer works! Every morning since the brilliant comedy Wild Hogs came out starring the quadtastic group of thespians - Travolta, Allen, Lawrence, and Macy - I have been on bended knee hoping that sweet baby Jesus would whisper gently into the ears of executives at Touchstone Pictures to green light a sequel. Well, it seems that the Son of God is starting to work his magic. According to the movie news website darkhorizons.com, Travolta has entertained the idea of a sequel. Travolta reveals that movie exec’s of little faith had low-balled predictions for this cinematic masterpiece by projecting a take of only $20 million dollars. As many readers already know, Hogs made almost $40 million in domestic ticket sales. Let’s continue to hope that such a fine work like Wild Hogs gets its due and we see a second work from this brilliant acting team make it to the silver screen. These are the kind of films Hollywood needs to keep vomiting, er - I mean - producing.

Hot Fuzz…Shaun of the Dead Part Deaux?

Filed under: Movie News — Posted by moviegirl74 on Wednesday, March 28th, 2007 @ 10:50 am

I loved Shaun of the Dead - so I can’t wait to for Hot Fuzz to hit US theaters April 20th. The movie was released in February in the U.K. and reviews there have been glowing. I was so disappointed with the movie adaptation of one of my favorite TV comedies - Reno 911 - I’m hoping Hot Fuzz will make up for it. For those of you who don’t know the Hot Fuzz story - here’s an abstract:

Did you Like Pirates of the Caribbean? Then you’re an Idiot

Filed under: Industry Rants — Posted by moviemanZ on Wednesday, March 28th, 2007 @ 12:39 am

I can’t imagine a greater indication that we’re living in the End Times than the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The popularity of this utter drivel has convinced me that idiocy has finally become the norm in this country. This movie operates slightly above the intellectual level of an average three year old. And who should be surprised by that since Pirates was based on a ride at Disneyland. What has surprised me is the buzz and critical praise this vomit has received. And please, this undeserved praise for Johnny Depp makes me sick to my stomach. Do any of you believe this was a difficult role for Mr. Depp? No. He was cashing out so he could continue living the lifestyle he’s accustomed to while enjoying the freedom of choosing projects he feels excited about. Projects that don’t have multi-million dollar budgets for their star’s salaries.

This summer the third installment of Pirates will defecate on movie screens across the world. You, or someone you know, with far below average intelligence probably looks forward to watching the new Pirates. But don’t let these Hollywood maggots take advantage of the retarded. Please, write your congressman or congresswoman and press them to pass legislation that will create criminal penalties for those who produce such abortions on film. Only then will moronic producers think twice before presenting this shit to an enfeebled public which knows no better.

Oh Please Movie Gods - Hurry and Release Rambo 4!

Filed under: Movie News — Posted by moviemanZ on Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 @ 6:05 pm

FlynetOnline.com has released the first on set photos from Rambo 4 (working title “John Rambo”). Currently filming in Thailand, the rumor is Stallone decided to do Rambo 4 after the success of ‘Rocky Balboa’. I guess you can beat a dead horse. As noted on FlynetOnline.com, its hard not to look at these pictures and wonder how the 50-something Stallone pumped up so quickly - especially since Australian authorities busted him for bringing HGH into their country earlier this month. The Hollywood machine rumbles on - leaving crap like this in its wake.

Warner Bros. has announced that the star of the past four Harry Potter films is set to return for two more. Daniel Radcliffe, who has already finished his latest run as Harry Potter in the summer ‘07 release Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has agreed to star in both Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The final book in the series, Deathly Hallows, is scheduled to for release just a week after Order of the Phoenix to capitalize on movie buzz. As summer ‘07 gets closer, expect Harry Potter news to revolve around whether Radcliffe’s on-stage nudity in the London production of Equus will have an effect on the tremendously popular movie franchise.

M. Night Shyamalan Gets Green Light for ‘The Happening’

Filed under: Movie News — Posted by super spy y on Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 @ 1:31 pm

night-shyamalan.jpgAccording to Daily Variety, Shyamalan has gotten the go ahead from 20th Century Fox to make ‘The Happening’, a movie that follows a family trying to escape a looming natural disaster. Shyamalan will write and direct the flick which is currently scheduled for a June ‘08 release.

This news may surprise many movie fans and critics who widely panned Shyamalan’s last effort Lady in the Water. Internet rumors have swirled around for months that Shyamalan would have trouble getting support for his next movie given the poor box office showing of Lady in the Water. But I guess in Hollywood one blockbuster and a little buzz carry a lot more weight than talent.
