Radcliffe Signs on for More Potter
Warner Bros. has announced that the star of the past four Harry Potter films is set to return for two more. Daniel Radcliffe, who has already finished his latest run as Harry Potter in the summer ‘07 release Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has agreed to star in both Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The final book in the series, Deathly Hallows, is scheduled to for release just a week after Order of the Phoenix to capitalize on movie buzz. As summer ‘07 gets closer, expect Harry Potter news to revolve around whether Radcliffe’s on-stage nudity in the London production of Equus will have an effect on the tremendously popular movie franchise.
Radcliffe’s acting chops have improved dramatically during his run as Harry - but I wonder if he’ll be typecast permanently as the boy magician. Of course, if his lawyers have negotiated in his best interest, after the last Potter, he’ll never have to act again.
I think the jury is still out on Radcliffe - what has he done other than Potter and Equus?
