I though this was that movie from the 60ies or 70ies, about an old trapper
who accidentaly shoots a hot headed ranger through the door, and then he is
hunted through the snow covered wilderness of Alaska i think. He manages to
escape and in the end he is killed in an Avalanch just minutes before he
can escape over a mountain top.
Does anyone know the name of that movie?

I was looking for a documentary about subsistance living in Alaska. This is
    fiction, but still good.

    Beautiful!
Better than the plastic and vain Olympics, and contains an ecological
warning to us all–respect our planet and all it’s inhabitants

Haven’t watched it yet. The description puts me off. Sounds like a Disney
    film for five year olds.
However as a naturalist I will watch it but please lighten up on the absurd
    commentary.

I love it, this life is amazing, far away from people and don’t have to put
up with fake greedy people in the cities. I done wilderness survival in
Alaska and love it, this is the best and simple life to live

Good, clean wholesome movie. After reading the positive comments, I decided
to watch. I came across this by accident. I wasn’t looking for a movie,
but for Leonard Cohen songs and came across this, as his song “Rivers of
Dark” is played in it. What a pleasant surprise!
